Sardines, olive oil, salt – these simple ingredients come together in this tin and make something really special. I don’t typically pay too much attention to the quality of the olive oil in a tin, but in this tin, I think it might be difference maker, the element that elevates this tin to a higher level. These were great straight from the tin – I had an array of condiments and accompaniments at the ready alongside this tin, but I found that doing no more than dropping them atop a thin slice of toasted sourdough was as much as I was willing to do, and more than half the tin was consumed as-is. This is a luxurious tin – worth the splurge.
