5 fish ni this tin hidden I a pesto jam. Fish were impossible to remove intact. Very soft but pleasant in taste , not fishy at all. The pesto is good, not great. Leaves a basil aftertaste. Of the 3 new offerings from Ferrigno, I would say the fennel, anise at #1 and this in second place with the onion last. All 3 three are worth considering in my opinion.

Second review of the same product. Wes even better today. The pesto firmed up under refrigeration. Was better than before. Really quite good. Basil was more pronounced than yesterday. I spread in on toasted bread. Nice. I noticed more scales than yesterday. Still, a great tin from Ferrigno.

This was the first tin I tried from my recent order from RTG. I love French Dines. They just do them better somehow. Usually always much firmer and meatier than their Portuguese Pals. These are no exception.
The Fish was firm, fresh, and meaty. The olive oil was combined with the basil and pine nuts to get you that pesto flavor. I wouldn’t say it’s a pesto preparation like you might make for a dinner, but I think you could just blend up the oil in this tin and get there pretty quick. It was very basil forward, but then, that’s fantastic for a pesto, the salt and garlic was muted.
That being said, from the moment you open this tin, you get that fresh pesto smell. The first bite of fish was that firm French fish I expected. This tin is a big win! The pesto flavor and the fantastic fish were finished before I knew it, they went down real easy. If there are any more of these in stock when I order next I might just buy the lot! Go get ya some!

So much pesto! Once again, Ferrigno brought those fixin’s to the (tin) party. I’ve tried over 400 different tins over the years yet this was my first one ever with pesto … that’s pretty darn cool. I really appreciated the new flavor alongside the classic Ferrigno sardine profile – medium firm texture, average moisture, solid levels of seasoning. This definitely goes in the top 10 of Ferrigno tins for me, maybe even top 5 on the right day.
When -not if- I order this one again, I’ll add a touch of salt and some lemon juice to take it even a notch higher. But make no mistake, this is a winner for anyone who really appreciates the extra add-ons in a tin. Worth buying for sure.
