Two stout blocky filets–fillets, if you like–dominate with smaller pieces of fish rounding out the can. Very pleasant lemon scent hits as soon as the lid is crack open. Lemon sauce is the right term, too, because it has some thickness, some presence–I very much wish there was more. The skipjack is top-notch, and although at first those filets look imposingly solid, they’re actually fork-tender (something not always true of even high-end canned tuna–I’m looking at you Ortiz in the jar). I tipped the tin, sauce and all, over a bowl of leftover/reheated pearl barley for me lunch at work, and it was a delight.

Woah! Phenomenal. Wonderful tuna flavor, the lemon sauce is not overpowering, the tuna is flaky and tender.
